Capron Park Zoo visit.

My friend Siobhan is a zookeeper at the Capron Park Zoo, and offered to give Fiona and I a behind-the-scenes tour. Here's the beautiful eye of one of the Visayan warty hogs.

I haven't forgotten
Jun. 1st, 2013 08:22 amHey you two friends who have special posts coming your way in exchange for donating to my charity bike ride! Thanks again and I haven't forgotten. The public giraffe encounters have just started up again, so I should be able to do some stuff with that. As far as the other request--unknown special spots around Boston--I realized looking at my iPhoto library that I spend almost all my time in two locations, home and work. I will take that as a wake-up call to get off my ass and explore or re-explore somewhere new or newish.
The bike ride, by the way, was to raise money for scholarships in the memory of a zookeeper. Jonathan Gilmour was on an overseas trip learning to be a better zookeeper and conservationist when he died suddenly. His parents established the fund in order to give other keepers the opportunities that their son had. We had the ceremony in the Tropical Forest building: ( see the pictures )
